The Winter Equestrian Festival is held every year right here in Wellington Florida. Now that the big financial players and land owners have settled all their arguments like between Mark Bellissimo and Jean Mische of Stadium Jumping, once Stadium Jumping made the decision to stay at the Equestrian Center instead of moving to the Wellington Preserve, after law suits were settled and now it is all water under the bridge we can get back to the business of having fun, enjoying our wonderful Equestrian events here in Wellington Florida and prospering from the money that gets spent here as a result of the Equestrian shows.
The Winter Equestrian Festival begins January 15 and this year Bellissimo says that it will be a world class venue. He spent time traveling around Europe to check out their Equestrian show facilities and came back with some great fresh ideas of how to improve the showgrounds here in Wellington Florida.
Bellissimo and his partners are spending millions of dollars between December 15 and January 15 to really increase the pleasurable experience of the shows. There are over 200 people working to make it all come together before the show starts. They will get rid of all the latrines and put in bathrooms. They are adding wonderful pathways all around the rings and shows. Rings are being upgraded and more added. To top it all off, they will be adding some great fun to add variety to the show.
Most everyone loves to watch the jumping but variety is the spice of life so they will be adding a speed derby as the kick off event. There will be better parking and better seating and more of it. I can't wait to go and take photos for our blog!
Bellissimo, Gene Mische, David Burton and David Burton Jr all have their roles to play in this new partnership. The relations with the Village of Wellington have improved and they have settled their lawsuits against the Village of Wellington. Bellissimo even offered to put up $25,000 to sponsor the Annual Easter Egg Hunt that Wellington puts on each year in light of the budget cuts. Some members of the village council seem to be second guessing his motives. He is seeing this sponsorship as a way to bring the Equestrian community of Wellington together with the rest of the non Equestrian residents.

Bellissimo says that since they own the land now they can really spend their money on improving the grounds and really making Wellington Florida a year round Equestrian center rather than just the winter months. I look forward to that. This also makes our real estate prices more stable in Wellington Florida. There will always be people wanting to move here for the quality of life we enjoy in Wellington Florida.

Mark Bellissimo filed a law suit against the Village of Wellington. The complaint is that Stadium Jumping received preferential treatment from the Village of Wellington in approving Stadium Jumpings's move to the Wellington Preserve.
