We have the privilege of voting for our favorite candidates that many nations do not have.  It is our responsibility as a citizen to get out and vote.  If you don't vote, you do not have the right to criticize the ones who win.

This year's election is very critical to our future.  It's really hard to decide on one candidate but by November election, I WILL know who I will vote for.  This is an exciting time in politics.  I am not even a political person but have found myself watching TV interviews, debates, and primaries.  Whoever I decide to vote for, my husband will probably vote for the other one....ha.  Makes an interesting home around election time.

But I am proud to be an American and proud that I live in a land of the free and the land where we can VOTE....so - just get out and vote...

Voting is a privilege and a right. We should make the effort...otherwise we have no right to complain!

I agree 100% with you Kay. I just wish everyone else thought that way! My family complains all the time about local and national politicians and I don't know the last time they voted!

Personally, I'd love to see a HUGE turnout for this election.  We all need to do what we can to get out the vote!

I couldn't have said it better.  As Chair of the Government Affairs committee for the Collin County Association of Realtors, I'll be preaching this message a lot this year.  Get informed, get involved and most importantly let your vote be heard and VOTE!

All elections are important, but I believe that this upcoming one is critical for the future of our country.  It is also critical to have an informed electorate.  The percentage of our citizens that vote is pathetic.

Kay, we are so blessed to live in this great Unites States and voting is a privilege we get that many in other countries don't have.  I vote in every election, rarely do I miss even if it is just a small water district election.  (Oh oops they do their's quietly and don't let us know about it.)  I am a strong conservative and do watch and listen to everything that is going on.

Marchel is right. The small issue elections  are important too. I even vote every year for Realtor of the Year! :-)

I agree with you Kay.  The important thing is to actually get out and vote.  Historically we barely break 50% voter turnout for Federal elections.  More people need to get involved and take the time to vote... absentee voting if nothing else, which is almost as easy as ordering a pizza for goodness sakes.

You are right about voting..We had better decide who to vote for because it will November 2008 sooner then we think.

You are so right Kay, we all have the right to vote for the person that will lead our country four the next four years, and we should all take advantage of our right to vote. If people don't think this is a big deal, check out some other counties, and see what the people have to do to get to the polls to cast a vote.

01/11/2008 10:31 PM by Larry Hammelman Sterling, Illinois Real Estate (Mel Foster Co.)

Hi Kay:  I wholeheartedly agree... especially this election.  Our country need to move in a differet direction, and this year that is going to happen.  A very important election.  Thanks for sharing, and for reminding us.
