Getting Ready For The Dog Days Of Summer In Kentlands

We are having very pleasant weather in Maryland but very hot days will soon be the standard.  Now is the time to have your home air conditioning checked and serviced.  We recommend that home owners consider an annual service agreement with a contractor to make sure you will have responsive service at any time it is needed.

Our home air conditioning units were serviced this week and, fortunately, no repairs were needed.  Dolores and I have used the same contractor for many years and we recommend their service:

Tuckers Air Conditioning & Heating

12-E Meem Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877  301-670-0034

Be prepared for the hot days and think of those that might suffer from the heat.  Please check on the seniors in your family and in your neighborhood.  The summer heat can be deadly for the elderly that are unable to get to a cooler environment.

Make sure that your children and their playmates have plenty of water and bring them inside during the very hot afternoons.  Your pets will also need plenty of water and a shady place to get out of the sun.  Do not leave pets in a vehicle when you are out and about.

All us want to keep cool on Dog Days, the hottest, most sultry days of summer.

Roy, Nice way to get the word out about your contractor in Kentlands. Sometimes it's not so easy to find someone you can rely on and this is a great tribute to them!

Good morning to all.  We have a beautiful sunny morning in Maryland.  Dolores left early to play golf in the member/guest event at Montgomery Country Club.

Have a great day and an outstanding weekend.

Hi Roy, The best way I've found to beat the hot days of summer is head to the cabin. There is nothing like hanging out by the lake on a hot summer day.

Have an AWESOME weekend!

Hi Roy, we've had rain all week in Seattle, that's why they call it the Evergreen State. Great tips on getting your cooling equipment checked before it gets hot. Love the photo!

Hi Roy, You are so right about getting ready for the summer heat. It is time to check out those AC units, and help seniors in our area. Our office has previously donated fans for many of the seniors in our area to help with the heat in the summer time.

This is a very timely reminder, here in NYC the dog days of summer can be quite unbearable.  In between the city soaking up all of the heat and acting like a furnace, the subways being even worse, the only relief is some cool air conditioning or just getting out of the city for a few days.

Roy, does that friendly neighbor greet you on your daily walks?  What a pleasant face to come across.   Great advice - now's the best time to get equipment checked out and a great reminder to check on others who may need help.

It is good to receive your comments.  We've had some hot weather in Maryland today.  It is definitely time to make sure the air conditioning equipment is ready for the summer.

Juli:  Actually, I do not often see this Kentlands dog.  I think he prefers staying in the house.
