19 Comments on My Four Favourite Peonies - Almost Wordless Wednesday
Valerie~ Isn't it hard to be wordless? What's the point of a blog if you can't "say" something? Love the flowers. I need to get out and take some photos too!
Valerie - what lovely photos! I had a hedge of peonies in my back yard in Nashville, but alas, they don't do well here in the desert...!
Valerie, I do agree with Donne, comment@1...you have to write something about your post :) I love your peonies.
My Mother and I adore peonies and mine are just about to bloom should we ever get some sunshine!! Beautiful photos.
Beautiful.......
Really beautiful. I need to get some flowers planted in my flower beds soon. My house could use the color.
Donna: I felt a need to write something. Of course, I could have edited it a bit.
Sharon: Isn't it amazing what can and cannot be grown in the various zones.
Rebecca: Thank you. There was dew on almost everything i photographed.
Susan: Today ended up being glorious. I am so glad I got out this AM with my camera.
John: Thank you.
Chris Ann: The darned squirrels here are munching on the stems of the annuals. Gardening has all kinds of challenges.
Valerie,
Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. Unfortunately, I cannot grow them here in the desert. Thank you for sharing and I will just have to order them from the florist!
Those are some pretty flowers! How do you pronounce that word anyway?
Valerie, they are so pretty....I don't knw why but they make me think of Mother's day.
Good evening Valerie. Your pictures are just beautiful and I love peonies. I found them in the yard of my new home today.
I love peonies and I have tons of perennial gardens but no peonies. I don't know why. I think I thought they attracte ants. LOL
Pamela: What is amazing to me is the variety of peonies and the colour range. I met an elderly woman yesterday who told me the only missing colour is blue. Oh well, give me the pinks and reds and this year, the corals.
Sussie: I bet you cannot grow them in Texas. I pronounce them - pee - on - eee BTW - I will never have a job at Webster's Dictionary.
Ellen: It could be because they bloom around Mother's Day through Father's Day.
Sheila: I bet that that is a sign of good luck. There must be some ancient Asian saying that says so.
Shar: There were some ants in the blooms but not as many as I expected. Still, I always swish the blooms in the sink to drown the ants before I make a bouquet.
Chris: I have been reading about photography and one of the best tips is to get in close and fill the frame. So, down to the Ornamental Gardens, Nikon in hand, got as close as I could to the flower, focused (oh yes, it was early and there were raindrops still on the petals), came home and cropped a bit with Picasa and then used the same free software for the collage. Voila - not a lot of editing. Let me know if this helps.
Valerie, I love peonies. I did try to grow them here but I guess is't way too hot in TX. Beautiful pictures I wish I can smell their fragrance. Ahh...
Anna: The peony season is so short. If I don't get back to the gardens this week, I will likely miss them until next year. Too bad they don't grown in Texas. Well, at least you have these photos. LOL
