Honoring Canton MA Teachers

Canton MA is proud to be home to a great public school system filled with many great teachers.  Maybe it's the music teacher who sparked your child's interest in the arts.  Perhaps it is the Math teacher that spent some extra time to help with a difficult concept.  Or just maybe it was a teacher who made a real connection with your child and made a difference in his or her life.

At the end of the school year, many parents and families are looking for a meaningful way to say "Thank You" to their favorite teacher or teachers.  What better way to thank a teacher than to give back and support public education?

Canton Alliance for Public Education (CAPE) has the perfect opportunity to do just this with their annual "Honor Thy Teacher Program".  You may make a donation to CAPE in any amount and CAPE will notify the teacher of your gift.  The donation amount is anonymous.

CAPE is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to enhancing Canton's commitment to excellence in public education.  The money raised is used to fund innovative programs that are not able to be funded through the regular school operating budget.  Over the years, these grants have benefited every single school in the district and span the entire curriculum from Performing Arts to Math and Science, from Literacy to diversity training and awareness and beyond. It is safe to say that every child who has attended the Canton Public Schools in recent years has been touched by a CAPE grant.  Since being revitalized in 2004, CAPE has awarded 74 grants totaling over $160,000.00, with the Spring 2012 grants about to be announced.

Donations are accepted at any time of the year but are particularly welcome to recognize teachers at the end of the school year.  Donations may be made online at the CAPE Website and clicking on "Honor Thy Teacher Donation" or by filling out the form attached to this article.

What outstanding Canton teacher do you want to thank this year?

Carol Ann ....it is a great program and teachers are honored to be appreciated in this manner. Judi ...I think it is important for the public to be invested....both financially and emotionally in the education system to make sure it succeeds.
