Mid-Century Modern Homes Washington DC

Long before Mad Men conga'd into our lives, architects like Charles Goodman were changing the face of the American landscape by creating synergy between living space, nature and design. Even here in the uber-traditional DC Metro area, the 'California Contemporary' trend caught on and stayed, mainly in the following communities:

r condos, townhomes, co-ops and single family homes

Susan, thanks for letting us know about the mid-century modern in D.C. I wouldn't have guessed.  I just posted a blog about a mid-century modern builder in Silicon Valley named Joseph Eichler.

Eichler, nice! I grew up in L.A. in an Eichler knock-off  ; )

If you ever get to DC, tour Hollin Hills. Beautiful!

I'll check Hollin Hills out if I'm in DC.  We call the knock-offs "Likelers".

I grew up in Southwest LA until I was 13, then Van Nuys until 20.  Then up here in SF south bay since 1972.  Here's a resource for Eichlers and mcm in SF bay area.  I didn't put it in my post because I don't advertise in it but other so-called "Eichler specialists" (who don't live in Eichlers) do. http://www.eichlernetwork.com/
