A few weeks ago I took a couple of night shots of the Tappan Zee Bridge from Tarrytown NY.  The sky was foggy that night and the river was like glass    One evening about 10 days ago, I found myself  near the same location once again just as the sun was going down.  The conditions were different, it was a nice night with some cloud cover, but the river was far more choppy.  So I set up the tripod with the idea of taking several photos  at different shutter speeds and ISO settings as the sun went down.   It was frankly an exercise, but a few of the photos came out really well, and at the risk of being redundant, I decided to post them here today…

Another thing to note is that twilight photography can be a very effective way to market some homes.  A house looks very different at dusk, and can sometimes be displayed with spectacular results in low light.

These are great pictures.  I always love looking at this bridge and the water.  Cool shot with lights reflecting.

As a child, I used to have nightmares with that bridge in them..............strange what large bridges do to a child...............great photos!

Ruthmarie, those will be historic shots soon.  Is it's new replacement out of the planning stage yet?

Oooh la la.  Those are great.  I have a dusk photo for one of my listings and it is stunning.  All the lights are on in the house and in the garage.  It is a great way to stand out in the crowd.

Ruthmarie:  You are the bestest at cool photos, esp. of our fav Westchester bridge.  We just had Paul Feiner from Greenburgh as a guest speaker at my Rotary and he gave us great details about saving the bridge as a "destination" and walking/biking vehicle when the new one goes in about 300 yards up river.  We'll see!
