Hi everyone. I am new to this site and to blogging, so please bear with me. I had a very interesting conversation today with Margaret Rome. I first heard about Margaret while listening to the radio a few weeks ago.
Margaret was the host of 'All About Real Estate' on WCBM. When Margaret mentioned Home Staging, my ears perked up. There aren't too many Real Estate agents in Baltimore talking about Home Staging. In fact, many still don't know what Home Staging is. So it was a surprise and a pleasure to hear Margaret mention it on her show.
I am taking a course in Interior Decorating with Home Staging being one of my main focuses. I love the idea of staging a home for resale. I must have read just about every book there is on the subject. One of my favorites is called "Design Psychology for Home Staging and Redesign" by Jeanette Fisher. The idea of using Psychology in Home Staging greatly interests me. In a nutshell, using Design Psychology in Home Staging means all the senses of potential buyers should be considered when creating an Overall Design Plan. Of course this concept can be used in all design plans and not just Home Staging.
Margaret and I spoke for a while and although she Stages most of her homes, it can be rather difficult for a busy Real Estate agent to go into dtail with all of her clients suggesting paint colors, furniture placement, decluttering and all that is associated with Staging a Home. We will hopefully meet in the near future and come up with ways to help each other out!
Looking forward to meeting many of you!!!
