I don’t know what to do, what would an expert general contractor suggest?

If you are faced with making a decision about your dry rot or water damage problem, it would be a good idea to ask someone who knows about and has siding water damagedexperience in handling these moisture related conditions. As general contractor with 25 years of experience in the removal and repair of dry rot and water damage repair, I think it is important to find out what should be done. Whether you choose to follow the contractor’s advice, is your own business. At least find out what an expert in the field has to say about your situation.

If you had a toothache, wouldn’t you see a dentist? If you had a legal matter, an attorney would be a good idea. Why not ask an expert in rot repair what he thinks? This is a difficult question to ask by some people. I do get this inquiry often and I get the opportunity to educate clients as to why they should do something.

The response to my suggestions will vary quite a bit. Some clients just want to do the absolute minimum, while others want to get everything cleaned up and resolved. leaking gutter on sidingHaving done this type of work for a few decades, I am willing to give my suggestion to the client. If they are not willing to do what needs to be done, there is a good chance that I will not be doing the work. This does happen.

After receiving my opinion on what repairs need to be done with the rot or water damage, many will find someone else to do a lesser job. What they do is not my business; my business is to do what should be done. It doesn’t make sense for us to do less than what needs to be done to correct the problem.

So if you are in need of repairs because you have water damages or dry rot repairs that need to be done. Don’t be afraid to ask an expert what he would suggest that you do. Years of experience may prove to be very helpful in answering your property repair needs.

If you are in need of a suggestion from an expert in dry rot or water damage repairs in the Sacramento area, let Tromler Construction give you a free estimate and opinion about your situation.

For things like this, it really does make sense to consult an expert.  Most people don't deal with these sort of issues every day and that's why it makes so much sense to bring in someone like you.

Good morning Tom. As someone who is dealing with a new home and a new area, I get it. If you ask an expert for advice and aren't prepared to take it, don't ask. Nicely done.

Experts are called experts for a reason. Even consultants and inspectors bring in specialists when it's needed. So if I was in Sacramento looking at this type of problem, who do you think I'm going to call?

Why ask if you aren't going to listen to the answer? There's always someone wanting to use a band-aid when stitches are the solution.

Maybe the bandaid will be good enough for now, I'll get the stitches later Marte.  :)

This thinking only leads to greater water damage.

You are funny janeAnne, but dry rot damages can be progressively more serious if not taken care of right away.

Thanks for suggesting.
