Are you proud of your last transaction?

Often, it's the simplest of questions that result in the most thoughtful of answers.  Along that vein, what are your thoughts on that last sale of yours?  That last lease, or last whateveryouwanncallit?

Did you...bust your tail and get your seller the highest and best price one could get for them?  Or was it a difficult process that found you in a battle you'd never win?

Did you...get your owner client a great tenant that's going to pay the highest rent the market will bear?  Or do you feel you threw in the towel a bit early in recommending the client take an applicant's offer of lesser rent because you weren't too sure another application would come your way?

Are you proud of your last transaction?

The world will have it's metrics whereby we'll be judged on a number of things...quotas here, quotas there- and the contents of our wallets or pocketbooks also serves as success' barometer for many.

But at the end of the day, it's only in our heart of hearts where the true measure of our efforts resides- and one can only speak and feel for themselves whether they've done their best and given their all for whatever cause has called for it and required it.

I look to assess myself at the end of every day, and quite frankly there are a number of times I beat myself up over things I could've done better.  I start every morning with prayer, and part of that involves my asking God to let me truly be the best witness for Him that I can be- in both my business dealings and otherwise.  I also pray that my deeds will truly match my words- and that that coming day I will do the best job anyone ever could for my folks.

So how about you?  When your day is over, do you welcome the "Well Done" stamp?

This year as the market is rebounding it seems like all my transactions are a blessing that I am very thankful for.

Great perspective, Dennis.  Beginning your day with prayer, and ending it with self-assessment.

There will come a Day when we hope to hear the words:  "Well done, good and faithful servant".

Hi, Chuck:  Thank you for stopping by, and for your comment.  Agreed.  I always look- though admittedly sometimes fail to- be thankful for all of the good things that come my way.  I always want to remember from whom they come- yet also remember that even the bad times come from Him as well and fit into His plan.

Hi, Fred: Thank you for dropping by.  I do end the day with prayer as well- the self-assessment is in addition to it.  I'd have to go with the KJV's Matthew 25:21, though- and the "Well done, thou good and faithful servant.  Those are words that are hard to imagine coming my way- but that's not such a bad thing at this point:  it leaves that as that unattainable goal on the horizon.
