Determining if a neighborhood is safe is more of a matter of personal opinion.  Here are some things you can do to check out this Atlanta neighborhood.  These things will help you develop your own personal opinion of an Atlanta neighborhood.

Talk to the neighbors.  The neighbors are one of the best sources of information.  Once you strike up a polite conversation, neighbors will fill you in with details that can only be obtained in this manner.

Drive through the Atlanta neighborhood at various times of the day and on various days.  I learn a lot about an Atlanta neighborhood by visiting it during the early mornings, middays, and evenings,  Also I recommend you compare the neighborhood activity during the week days versus weekend days.  Ask yourself how many people and cars do you at home during the middle of the day.  Is there a neighborhood watch in affect?  Are yards kept tidy?  You know what you like in a neighborhood, and you can see if the neighborhood agrees with your desires.

Talk to the local police department.  The local police officers will have information regarding crime statistics about the neighborhood and about the types of crime that happen in this Atlanta  neighborhood.

Check out Georgia Sex Offender Registry.  The GAR Purchase and Sale Agreement (paragraph 10b) has specific language about the Sex Offender Registry.  Buyers can go www.gbi.georgia.gov for specific information.

Real estate professionals cannot guarantee the safety of a neighborhood.  It is the duty of the buyer to satisfy his or her own self regarding the safety of a neighborhood.
