"how many homes did your dog sell last year?"

By

Ok, I'm in tears.  I'm pretty sure they are from laughter but I think some might be truth tears - as in the truth about agents hurts due to the link below.

The line that got to me was "I dont care about your Dog, how many homes did he sell last year?"  I think the piece points out that agents have been selling themself's and their product (homes) short. -Most agents need to step up the way they handle their marketing if they want todays buyer to respond.  Buyers and sellers want more info about listings, not your dog.

Thanks to Marc and Brian @ 1000wattconsulting for the 1 min clip!

Wow... Great perspective. I believe we should be business and about the customer first. When you form a relationship the dog talk comes in. lol

Yeah people get industry tunnel vision and forget what the experience is like for the consumer. Great post, great video. I actually know a realtor that uses pictures of her dog. I like the "what are all those letters behind your name?".

"I am not a lead."

I told a coworker/friend at lunch yesterday that I do not "lead generate."  I don't seek or work with "leads."

I'm in the people business and I seek and work with people.

He was breathless...

And he is getting a link to the video.

Thanks!

So true and something that we always need to keep in mind. People don't really want to know us personally, just professionally.

Very true. Consumers are worried about what you can offer them. However I will say every once in a while it is good to let off a little steam.

Ramping up marketing in the Spring makes sense - as long as the advertising makes sense.  Focus on the product (homes)!

Nice video, but has little to do with the reality. It is all about... excuse me... WHO? Are you talking about internet. Then this ME is usually hidden under some e-mail address, no name, no nothing. And the last thing they want me to know is about that ME.
