YOU Have the POWER!...You Just Need To Use It.

Good Morning!  Today is a new day!!  Now, clear your head and get ready for this one...this is important...

The 'Clintonian' definition (thats my word for my version....kinda catchy, dont you think?) of INSANITY is this: Doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting different results.

Having that in mind, lets move on...I'd like to share with you all a little piece of advice I recieved from my Economic's professor in college...Dr. Colleen Johnson.  Smart woman...and I dont just mean book smart.  She was sharper than a two-pionted tack.  Anyways...here is what she told me upon graduation...Or, a close summary thereof...

If you always do what youve always done,
You will always see what you have always seen,
You will always know what you have always known,
You will always have what you have always had,
You will always feel what you have always felt,
You will always be what you have always been,
You will always get what you have always got,
BECAUSE you always do what you have always done.

If you do not like the things about yourself that you see, know, have, feel, get, or how you are, CHANGE SOMETHING!!!  ANYTHING!!!  YOU are the one that has the power to affect a change in your life...whether that be your personal life or your business life.  If you change any one of those aspects, you will affect them all.  That is the nature of change.  And it doesnt have to be dramatic...It can be subtle.  It can be as simple as eating an apple instead of a cinnamon roll...Or drinking a glass of water rather than drinking your 5th Mountian Dew for the day....Or, using the stairs rather than the elevator.

Now, go out there today and CHANGE SOMETHING!  Try something new!  You never know...you could end up HERE with your face next to Carey Chapman or Amanda King, Century 21's International Realtor of the Year for 2007.  Anything is possible!!!

I love morning affirmations of how wonderful life truly is...Whether your flavor is religious or philisophical, serious or humorous, there is nothing more effective than a reminder.  We have reminders for everything else (grocery lists, voicemails, emails, schedules)...Why not one for this?  I actually write a weekly positive reminder on my bathroom mirror with my wife's lipstick (Good Lord does she hate it when I do that) so that it is the first thing I see when I get up or get out of the shower.  I have numerous books with inspirational quotes of one form or another, but my favorite is The Hip Pocket Guide to Offbeat Wisdom by William Sauer.  Its on the humorous side, but a very good read.

Thanks, Patricia...that was me.  :-)  Being surrounded by all of the gloom and doom that is thown around in this world, its hard to realize that life really isnt all that bad.  And, never challenge 'Worse'.  No matter how bad it really is, it can ALWAYS get worse.  I think this was one of the best pieces of advice I ever recieved that wasnt from my grandpa....Have a wonderful year!

Very well said. Especially with this being the beginning of another wonderful year. Let's all take a moment and CHANGE something. It all starts from within ourselves. Great post.

I agree that we have to change things to make things better. Unfortunately many people do the same things the same way all the time and are not seeing results. Surprising!!!

Matthew -- Exactly!  And doing the same thing over and over again and expecting it -- whatever 'IT' is -- to work differently each time is insane.  Its that way with your personal relationships, your business...marketing...everything.  Try something new.  Give it a shot....whats the worse that could happen?  It could fail just like other efforts have in the past, right?  But, at least you tried something new.  Thomas Edison once said while trying to invent the light bulb "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work".
