First thing this morning I get up and find out I've been me me'd by Ruthmarie Hicks. OK, now what? So I learn that I need to tell 5 things you don't know about me. Simple enough. LOL, It's been 15 minutes and this is as far as I've made it. Hey, I watch cop shows, maybe I can plead the 5th. I could even use that as my #1. (the cop show thing). Na, I will give it a try but just know that you have the right to remain silent.
#1 I was born in Covington, Va, but as an Air Force brat lived all over the United States. But for me there was no place like home
and getting back to my place of contentment Humpback Bridge a Beautiful wayside park on Rt 60 West outside of Covington. It is one of the two last remaining Humped backed covered bridges in the country.
#2 I am a Sports fanatic! Having played fast-pitch softball for 20 years. One of my greatest joys in life was to watch my daughter (Wendy) continue that tradition as she played from t-ball to varsity. If you haven't figured it. I am a proud mom too. This is a picture of her pitching during her senior year. Boy, could she make that ball hum!
#3 I was a single parent for years swearing to never marry again. Never! Say Never! I re-married in 2000 to a wonderful man named Tracey who is best friends with both myself and my daughter. She has him wrapped around her finger!
#4 I was diagnosed in 2001 with Fibromyalgia after suffering for many years. I have my flair ups and push through them. Hopefully to come out of it stronger. I hope to one day write a book as it is very hard on the person diagnosed with it but much harder on family and friends to understand it. But, I know how you feel.
#5 I owned and operated my own business called Frugal Elegance, a upscale consignment shop for several years. For years I'd wanted to go into real estate but at my age was unsure of the career move or if I could even pass the exams. So I went to work for Rockbridge Area Tourism as a travel counselor and tour guide in Lexington, Virginia and fell in love with History. Still wanting to pursue real estate, I decided that I didn't want to go through life with regrets or thinking what if. I was licensed in the state of Virginia in 2006 and discovered that I have a passion for what I do. I am truly blessed. Thanks Ruth, it was fun.
