Sorting Through the Social Media Can O' Worms

Some Great Useful New Stuff!

Anyone else out there totally bombarded with social media? I always make sure I’m as up-to-date as reasonably possible on the latest and greatest in social media, social networking and marketing. I found this interesting list of media I hadn’t heard of yet and thought I’d share. Many of you are already building and revolutionizing your identity online, gaining followers and fans, building referral lists and databases and all from a computer. However, here is the next layer of social media ‘stuff’ you should be in on.

Realbird: This is a tool you can use that’s in conjunction to your Facebook, because of course all these things must connect to something else! This mobile tool helps you make more creative business pages to attract buyers and sellers if you’re an RE Agent. It’s specifically designed for your field. It allows the agents to list homes for sale so others can see the homes you’ve listed to Facebook. This is simply the next detail to connect your Facebook to your listings.

TweetLister: For those of you who are already active on Twitter, here’s that final touch you can get started on called Tweet Lister. This helps you list your properties onto Twitter. This is also a great way to make yourself the viewed guru in your field and start to build a stronger and larger fan base through your tips, advice and listed homes.

Follr.com: This is a tool that allows you to create an online business card and makes it easy to stay in touch with people. This profile is easy to set up and you can easily and quickly link this profile to all your other online media profiles that I’m sure we all have a plethora of. This is also a neat way to keep your profiles indexed in the search engines and your ‘business cards’ categorized.

SocialOomph: This has so far been my favorite discovery. As many of you who’ve seen my blogs before know, I try and produce several blogs a week among other types of postings to other media. This is a website that allows you to block out a certain period of time to write many different pieces and then schedule them to be posted throughout the week or month. It’s a great way to get a bulk of your social media networking done, especially if you are going to be out of town or know you have business meetings which may hinder your “marketing hour” one day during the week.

Houzz: This is a bit like Pinterest but much less diversified. On Pinterest you can create all kinds of boards for ‘pinning’ photos with a link to other websites for further details. This is a bit like that however, it’s specifically geared toward interior design and decorating ideas. So if you’re staging a home that’s particularly unique, use new DIY ideas for staging or you just want to get the word out on your home this is another avenue to utilize.

The social media train is never-ending! There is always more to learn, more to discover, new things to research and statistics on what is successful to be seen. Never stop researching and you’ll stay on top of your game. Don’t spread yourself thin by trying them all, find the ones that work and use them!

Thanks for the updates Lynn.  It's never ending with these tools.  Just when you think you get caught up a whole slew of them pop up.  So many choices, so little time.

Lynn there are just too many to keep up with and so I don't try otherwise that is all I would be doing and not selling real estate. I have my favorites and stick with them for now.

Hi Lynn

Thanks for this.  I've been somewhat involved in Social Media for years but I'm trying to really get serious about it. I'm taking workshops and reading everything I have time for.  I see Houzz on Pinterest all the time, now it makes sense.  I'll be checking out SocialOomph as regualar blogging is something I'm educating myself to do.  The jumping in will be a little intimidating but I'll be searching out your blogs.
