Closing gifts    closing gifts

Back in 2005, I was introduced to the Chautaqua Winery in Defuniak Springs, Florida by our Office Manager. She would order cases of their Muscadine Wine and have custom labels made with her contact information. I started doing this also and used them as closing gifts. They made for a very unique gift and I received a lot of positive feedback about the label.

I recently decided to bring back this marketing tool and went to the winery and picked up two cases of the red wine and one case of the white. The friendly staff there pulled up our old label and made some changes to it for me. It only took them about an hour to label all the bottles and have them ready for me. During this time my wife and I took advantage of the chance to sample some of their outstanding selections.

Noble

A semi-sweet red Muscadine wine made from Noble grapes. The flavor and color of our most popular wine result from grapes being crushed and fermented on the skins to extract the festive flavor of the grape. Best served at cool room temperature.

This red wine is one of our favorites.

Sugar Sands White   A semi-dry white wine made from fragrant Niagara grapes. Best served chilled.

This white Muscadine wine is also a great choice.

http://www.chautauquawinery.com/   Is their website and if you are ever in the Defuniak Springs area, I would highly reccomend a stop here.

Wow, what a great idea, and a unique way to get your clients to remember you!  Well, maybe not if they drink the whole bottle, LOL.

Thanks Jessica - One of the problems I have is making sure that I don't drink it all up before I can give them away!! The other agents in my office also love the wine!!

In my experience you only give alcohol when your customer tells you he or she is a big fan of it. Some people have a problem with it.

Absolutely, you should tailor your closing gift to the taste of your customer. I have found though that the ones that appreciate wine like the unique nature of this Muscadine wine and definitely like the custom labeling.

Good morning, Jim. Great idea for a closing gift if you know your client enjoys wine.

Thank you every one for the comments. I am sure that if you will check with a local winery, they probably can do custom labels for you. This one charges $2.00 per label. Even with the cost of the label, the wine is still very reasonably priced. Especially since they discounted the purchase price for buying by the case.
