23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese. This book is nothing short of insane. It was written by a realtor, of all people, and is really designed to tell people that hell exists. It's not one of those books that are all gloom and doom, but this guy actually visits hell...REALLY and then heaven and then comes back to tell us that hell exists and to that it's time to get your head out of your ____. In reality there is no better book to start the new year than a book that really makes your question your actions and core values. By the end of the book....the book at longest is a 2 day read...you feel pretty confident that you want to point your life in an unmovable direction. A great book for 2008.
The second book is one that I stumbled on that has been around for 30+ years. Run, Baby Run by Nicky Cruz. It's about a
Puerto Rican boy who comes to the states, NY, at the age of 15 and by 17 he's running the toughest gang in the city. Other gangs call on his gang for protection. Long story short he's on a 1 way ticket to hell and finds Christ and becomes a street minister and now has a national ministry. Reading the first book and following it with the second book only makes you reconfirm and rededicate yourself to your calling.
I love my profession, but I need to be ummovable in my decisions to act according to the values that I know that I have. Our life on earth is short, so we need to get aligned with our inner truths so that we can succeed in all we do.
Larry,
Well said....I will look for these books.....and add them to my list of reading suggestions.
