A few days ago, I was driving East on Overseas Highway (U.S. 1) to look at a house on Big Pine Key. Along the way, I noticed a guy on a small bicycle on the road shoulder to my right who was apparently pedaling along backwards! I thought, "what's with that"??!!
Well, while on Big Pine, I dropped by CVS to pick up some things, and THERE HE WAS! Unable to resist the urge to talk to this fellow about what in the world was he doing, I spoke to him. I was surprised to learn that he, Curan Wright, had left Venice Beach, California on August 17, 2007, and had pedaled backwards across the United States, all the way to Key West. When I saw him, he was on his way back, backwards, of coarse.
