Falls Church New Construction-McLean HS DistrictEarlier this year a former client called and asked for my assistance in selling the family home in Falls Church.  The home in the  McLean High School District was mostly original and needed work to bring it into the 21st century.

After making a few calls to investors, builders and other agents a buyer was found who was interested in rennovating aka gutting and expanding the property for resale.  They've kept me in the loop and today I stopped by to see how progress was going.

The former two level ranch is well on it's way to becoming a three level 6 Bedrooms/6.5 Bath home.  The new third floor is framed with 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms.  The new owners will be able to put a washer and dryer on this level as well. The main level will have an open living room with gas fireplace, dining room and kitchen.  Also on the first floor will be a 2nd master suite, office and powder room.

New Dining Room-Falls Church New ConstructionThe lower level is being framed for a legal 6th bedroom, family room, media room, wet bar and 2nd laundry room.  The yard features mature trees and on the main level will be a deck with stairs to the lower level stone patio.

The finishes already selected for the home are top of the line but the builder is willing to work with anyone who buys while the property is under construction to make changes. If you are interested in taking a tour of the home during the construction phase give Cindy Jones and CJ Realty Group a call at 703-346-2213.  With a prime location only a few minutes from I-66, Metro and shopping this home is already getting a lot of interest.

That sounds like it's going to be one heck of a home Cindy!  Hope a buyer shows up soon, but whoever it is, is going to be quite lucky :)!

Hi Cindy...I found this to be very interesting as we had a home in the McLean High School area, in fact you could walk out of our back yard into the playing fields.  We bought the house, not because it was a great home, but for the location.  It actually turned into a great home as we loved being so close to school for my son and daughter.  I can imagine someone being willing to invest heavily in remodeling a home in that area.

Cindy, that's interesting and we see the same thing in parts of Silicon Valley and San Francisco.  My guess is land values in Falls Church are high.  They must be to justify that huge re-build.

Kate how wonderful. It's a great area and certainly both the school district and location make it sought after.

Lloyd yes land values are high in Falls Church and in our area an "inside the beltway" location is highly desirable.

Cindy,  this is truly taking a property back to the studs and beyond! Dallas land values inside our loop are also very desirable.  Fuel costs have played a role in that desirability.

3 floors, wow!  Will there also be a full basement?  Sounds quite impressive. I'd enjoy seeing pictures of the interior once it's finished!

Cindy, sounds like an exciting process!   We have many buyers scraping and building a new and improved and keeping the location!    What fun!

Sharon this one has truely been gutted including 100% new electric.  It is in a highly sought after area so I suspect the builder will have this under contract before it's finished.

Joan-I'm surprised this is happening in Denver too.  Is it closer to the old Stapleton Airport location?
