Snap shot of Alameda real estate market - June 4 - June 10, 2012

This is a snap shot of the Alameda real estate market activity for June 4 - June 10, 2012:

New homes on the market..................................................................14

Receiving keys to homeThe snap shot shows that inventory of all properties remains at 60 properties.  Last week the total properties on the market was also 60.  Sales increased  42% this week from last week.  The number of condos and townhouses has increased slightly since last week(11).  Distressed properties, mainly bank owned properties has increased slightly since last week(7).  

The average days on the market for all properties has dropped 9%. Prices are still rising very slowly and inventory of all types of properties is still low.  It is still a good time to buy a home or income property since prices are far below historic highs and interest rates are phenomenally low. Evelyn - Excellent real estate market report for the Alameda area.  Looks like the Alameda market is heating up with low inventory and a decrease in the number of days on the market.

Joni:  Some of them are short sales which take a while to close.  But, yes, we do have a lot of pendings.

Laura:  I hope so.  The summer will tell whether it is just the usual spring time flurry or the real thing.

Pamela:  I wish were in the Silicon Valley.  We are on the other side of the bay, near Berkeley and Oakland.  But our little section of the east bay is doing very well.
