This sounds like a great opportunity for the students in Texas.
What does HEB stand for Jerry?
Jerry: This is a fantastic opportunity for TX students to pickup some college funds. I remember going to HEB when we lived in Del Rio.
Hi Jerry. Seems like a great way for kids to learn about something and possibly hit the jackpot while doing it!
Jerry, What a fantastic opprortunity for the kids in your area to learn. Great information.
Hi Jerry, what a great opportunity to "win" college money.
I know there will be a lot of entrants with a Grand Prize like this. You are still #1SP page.
Have a great day.
I think you'd make a great topic for "Influential Texan" Jerry. Just look at all the people you've helped achieve the dream of home ownership. Now that's "Influential".
Hello Jerry,
What an exciting even for the local students to help build their college funds!
What a great idea to get kids involved and help with their schooling as well. Hopefully many will take advantage of this offer.
What an awesome and exciting time for these kids. I did a summer program for the Arts in my Junior year and won 2 scholarships for poetry and actually you may get to see one of my first works on Father's day.
Hi Tom. This is an excellent opportunity for kids in Texas. H.E.B. stands for Howard Edward Butt, who took over the business from his mother, Florence Butt, in 1919 after returning from World War I. His first 4 attempts to expand the grocery business in Central Texas failed, but in 1927 launched a successful store in Del Rio, Texas. Then added three more stores in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. These chains of grocery stores were named after his initials. Charles Butt, Howard's youngest son is now the Chairman and CEO of H.E.B. Grocery Company, LP.
Yes, I think this is a great opportunity for kids to get some funds for scholarships. Del Rio was were Howard E. Butt finally launched his successful chain of grocery stores. That store is probably historical now.
Hi Carol Ann. Learning and Hitting the Jackpot is a Nice Winning combination.
Yes, Debbie. It is a great opportunity for kids to learn, and HEB has other contests going kids too. This was just one that I found out about recently. HEB sponsors a lot of community activities, and they happen to be one of our largest employers in town.
WOW! Irene, Still on page One. I love it. Yes, With the whole summer, I am sure there will be many students going after that Grand Prize.
Now, Doug. You are making me blush. I know I have help many to obtain their Dream Home. But most likely these kids will chose a public figure in sports or government, or even in the school system.
Yes, Lisa. This encourages students to Read and Write, which very important skills for them to develop before going off to college.
Hi Charles, That was the idea to get many students involved over the summer months. I thought it was an excellent idea when I first heard about it the other day.
Hi Kevin. I am very curious about your art work. Can't wait to see what you have in store for Father's Day.
Jerry,
San Antonio has much to offer in so many areas. I just read your post about the free swim events at local pool.
