Color Everywhere at Arlington Garden in Pasadena

Li -- the garden was developed to take advantage of natural plantings that are drought tolerant -- students of all ages can discover how a water-wise garden can be a thing of beauty if not different from many other gardens we may see.

Laura -- very true -- Pasadena has a love affair with the rose so Arlington Garden is a bit out of the ordinary.   

John -- I'm not great at identifying flora, fauna or cacti but the second one with the purple bloom was near the cacti section as I recall.  That's why those QR codes at the garden is so handy --- when I'm at the nursery, sometimes I need to take a photograph for reference when purchasing something I've seen because I can't remember the names.   

Hello Morgan -- there are many parks in Pasadena plus lots of open space including the Arroyo Seco and Eaton Canyon plus the Rose Bowl but only one public garden so Arlington Garden is a true treasure and as you said they can really complement a neighborhood and area.   

Hi Belinda -- I think the third photo is a shrub and maybe a tree -- but the garden is suppose to reflect plants that grow natural in the environment.
