Lately I've been sharing the list of beautiful Lakes and places to see in the Great Rim Country with you, near Payson, Arizona, and here is another one! This is our beautiful Bear Canyon Lake. This Lake is hike in only for accessiblity, the only way to reach the Lake is to hike in from the campgrounds. however, the bonus is that there are no fees for camping, and reservations are not needed. The camp ground provides restrooms as well. Those who take this .25 mile hike will be generously rewarded with such tranquil beauty, (glad they did it!) and a memorable fishing experience. The fish that can be caught here are Rainbow Trout and Arctic Grayling. This lake is a narrow, canyon lake with thick forest that extends right up to the shoreline. This Lake sits at a 7,560 elevation in the fresh, cool mountain air. So pack up your family and friends, and come have some fun in the mountains this summer! Besides, you'll also love the scenic drive, and the views from the Mogollon Rim.
