This week is the 39th annual Virginia Chicken Festival, hosted by Burkeville Ruritans and Crewe Kiwanis. This festival is always filled with food & fun - I'm sure this year won't disappoint! Virginia Chicken Festival

When:  June 15, 2012

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Where: Hooper Park - Crewe, VA (get directions)

Cost: Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 at the Gate



If it involves chicken, you're bound to find it here. They will be serving everything from BBQ, Nuggets to Livers. There's something for everyone


The Kickin' Country Crew from WVHL 92.9 FM will be on hand entertaining the crowd from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. After which The Holiday Band will be preforming.

If you're in Farmville you can by tickets at any of the Citizen's Bank locations or at Gant's Insurance Agency. The folks at Virginia Chicken Festival have set up a great site with lots of information and pictures on the festival as well as a way to buy tickets, so be sure to stop by.

The Virginia Chicken Festival is a great example of South Central Virginia's warm hosptitality and good old fashioned fun. If you considering moving to this area, this event is a must see.

What does the cost of a ticket include?  Do you have to purchase food separately?

If it's done like the past (which I'm sure it will be) the food & drinks(soda and beer) are included in the price of the ticket. Hope this helps! But feel free to check out their site or give'em a call for more details.
