Sumatran Tiger at the National Zoo in Washington, DC

The National Zoo in Washington, DC is one of our favorite places to visit.  Dolores and I usually plan to spend several hours with a break for lunch.  There is much to see and photograph.

Everybody wants to see the tigers.  I am sharing some photographs of the Sumatran Tiger at the zoo.

Go to the website for the National Zoo and subscribe to the email newsletter for regular updates on the animals.  If you can, join FONZ, Friends of the National Zoo.  The National Zoo also has a Facebook page.  There is a Facebook group for Friends of the National Zoo.

Have a great week with your camera in hand.

Sumatran Tigers are so powerful and beautiful at the same time.  Wouldn't want to run into one out side of the zoo!  That would be one time I'd toss the camera down and run :)

Roy: Wow, those are great shots!  I love the National Zoo, too- It has a nice exhibit layout, and it's one of only a few zoos in the United States to have panda bears.  Thank you for sharing!  :)
