Lions at the National Zoo in Washington, DC

One of the benefits of living in the Montgomery County, Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC is that Dolores and I get to visit the National Zoo on a regular basis.  The National Zoo is very large and there is much to see.  We recommend that you plan to spend most of the day at the zoo.  Go in the morning, take a break for lunch and enjoy the exhibits until you are too tired to continue.

Take the entire family, with cameras in hand, to capture photographs that you will want to have in your albums. Everybody wants to see the lions so I will share some photographs with you.

Those kitties are so magnificient.  They look like they are deep in thought about something.  Don't you wish you could read their minds sometimes?  Just not when they are thinking about eating you though.  Great photos.

Roy, no wonder he's called the king of the jungle - he's so magnificent looking.  Thank you for sharing these great photos from the National Zoo.  I hope to one day be able to visit that and the great Washington DC area.

Roy, congratulations on your 47th anniversary!  Even though the term "magnificant" has been used muliple times in the replies to this post, these cats are truly magnficant.  I like the photo of the female in the third photo the best.  Something about her expression and those huge feet.
