How do you stand out in a crowd? Real Estate Thought of the Day.

Ever since I had a bunch of tree removal done and yard work, I have rediscovered my bird feeder. Off to the side and out of the picture during the late afternoon will attract what I call my feathered friends. The tip here is this, though they all do similar things, there will always be the one that will get the most attention and stand out among many. By doing something unique will separate yourself from others. Give it a try, you’ll be amazed at the result.

Good post.  Sometimes being yourself is not enough.  You have to put an extra effort for you to stand out.  Have a great week!

I was just pondering this same question as I sat here playing guitar, with a banjo leaning against the wall. Although in my market I think being pretty technologically inclined sets me apart from most around here, it doesn't really make me all that unique. I think it helps to have a 'hook' as far as marketing and memorability's sake. (Not a crutch or something that replaces good old-fashioned know-how and just being an awesome realtor, mind you).

And it hit me: I'm going to play some guitar and banjo on some videos for my YouTube/Vimeo sites, to be interspersed among my real estate vids. Why not? I'm no rock star, but I think prospects and clients would get a kick out of knowing their realtor plays Grateful Dead covers, pretty well. Who knows? Just thinking along the same lines as you!

Thanks for sharing!

Michael

Winston: And sometimes it's something very simple, it just has to be memorable. Mine are my signs in our market. I just wrote a blog about it a couple of days ago. And it's working.

Yeah, I agree. We must be unique to standout among others. In a crowded business like ours,(well, all business actually) we need to  standout.
