The Fresh and Easy Express Market is having its Grand Opening in Lunada Bay today.  The new food market replaces Moores Lunada Bay Market , which had been a fixture in the local community for many years, which recently closed when the owner Veith Moore retired.

The new store, at 2201 Palos Verdes Drive West, will be one of Fresh & Easy's new Express mini-stores, which are about 3,000 square feet. That's much less than the company's traditional 10,000-square-foot locations. The Express stores concentrate on their grab-and-go prepared meals, but also have a full selection of spices, meats and produce.

Maureen -- sad when a locally owned business goes away but I'm a fan of the Fresh and Easy stores(although there none of their Express stores in our area).   Although the selection is limited, it's an inviting environment with relatively good prices.
