It's All Your Fault Active Rain!!

Lately I haven't had much time to blog and it's all ActiveRains fault! You see, before I started blogging, I did OK in this real estate biz, but nowhere near where I would like to be. These past few months though have been a challenge for thankfully I didn't take ON one of those daily blogging challenges!

You see...if it weren't for ActiveRain,

Video stuff* I wouldn't have been pushed to create my first video...which in turn has me now ensconced as a volunteer on two local committees. Yep..the West Linn Farmers Market season is ready to lots to do!

* I wouldn't be as tech savvy. My listing now take MUCH longer to prepare for as I now have added so much. Editing photos, taking video (or hiring professionals),uploading to all the social media sites like Zillow, Trulia, Facebook, Google+..not to mention tweeting, blogging, re-editing. Long gone are the days where a sign, flyer, 16 photos, just listed cards and a home book cut it. I hate to admit this..but yeah, there was a time when I posted pictures just as they were. I had no clue about photo editing sites!  Maybe some agents are still just doing only that....but noooooo....because I've learned so much here on ActiveRain, I just can't stop at that.

* I wouldn't be as confident in my listing presentation. Yep..I was just recently up House for saleagainst three very prominent agents in Tualatin. Because I KNOW I can offer the seller some kick butt marketing, my confidence level is much higher. Yep..that tech stuff and all the various great tips learned from everyone on AR really does make a difference....oh.. and I know the neigborhood stats well..why? Because I blog about them!

* I wouldn't be so busy with all the things it takes by switching Brokers and getting all my stuff changed over...Ok..technically It was me and not Active Rain on this one....but, my featured post a while back about the ups and downs of changing offices garnered quite a lot of responses I've made a moveand I would say at least 80% of you said changing was the best thing you've done. So far, so good....but man, lots of hours spent purging my old stuff and re-creating the new.

The funny thing is that because I sent out a card out with a nice letter opener inside letting people know I've made a move, I got a call from a past client wanting to list their house. I'd like to think they would have called me anyway..but timing in this case was good!

* If it weren't for ActiveRain, I wouldn't be getting calls from people that have found me online..thus keeping me pretty darn busy lately! took a while..but It's now happening..YES!!

Now, I'm not complaining or anything...busy is good. I just miss all my AR buddies and blogging!! My hubby said the other day "It's good that you're so busy...maybe you won't waste time blogging"  I think the biggest mistake would be to STOP blogging because I am busy!

So really...It's All your Fault Active Rain!!

Hi Cindy, great blog. Too busy too blog is good, but then when that lull comes in, it will take time again to get busy again. So keep blogging, even though you're busy.

Hi Rachel, you have just made my day...thank you for that lovely compliment and you're so right about the gem analogy.

Hey Rob, OK..I just closed my eyes and concentrated real hard on sending you some good clients. Must be everyones at the beach!

Hi Tammy, It's prospecting..and a fun way to do so for me. Like any form of prospecting, if you don't do it, you probably won't get business. Like I said to Tammy L...finding that balance would be great.

Hi Mary, Thanks! It is always nice when your listing goes pending quickly. The inventory is pretty low as you know. I know the best business choice I ever made was to start blogging here on AR. It has a way of keeping you active..and pushing one to want to succeed. It's been great for me and my business.

Catchy title!  I've gotten a lot of things from Activerain including leads, a better business model, and the connections to be a success.  I think AR offers up the little nuggets of information that evolve us into better agents.

I'm in the same boat. I've been so busy the past couple of months that my blogging has gotten behind. I've tried to catch up on some posts the past couple of weeks, so that's good, but being busy is a great problem to have!

Hi Michael, It's like prospecting...well, one that I enjoy anyway. Once you stop, your pipeline of clients goes away! AR is way worth it!

Hi Joetta, I need to work on doing videos better! At least I got my feet wet..and like anything, there is a learning curve on it.

Hi Sandy, isn't that the way of our business...sometimes all or nothing! The key I guess is to stay consistent with blogging during both times

Hi complaints other than there is not enough time in the day. AR makes things happen is sooo many ways..and all good!

Hi Bryan, very well said! On top of that is the connection that you make with so many wonderful people!

Oh, Cindy, I LOVE this post!!!!  So glad you are busy, busy, BUSY. And here I thought you'd just given up on me. Ha! Isn't it wonderful to be blogging and get some pay-off from it?  It is one of those things I truly LOVE and I recently had a presentation (no, a CONVERSATION) with a FSBO seller neighbor, and after I told him about all of the sites I'm on and about SEO (he asked, "what's that?"), he left saying, wow, I had no idea about all of the things you're doing for marketing. HELLO!

Anyway, congrats on a well-deserved feature--I certainly would've hit SUGGEST.
