Happy Inspiration

What do our feathered friends know that we don't know?  More importantly, why do we sometimes lose the ability to feel sheer joy and pure, unadulterated contentment?  You know ... the kind of true gratification and excitement observed while watching a dog with a stick or Frisbee in its mouth, or a squirrel upon finding an acorn, or a bird after discovering the motherlode of fast food left behind in the parking lot.

This little gift shop sign made me stop and take pause about a simple concept which is not always simple to remember:  We tend to seek happiness when happiness is actually a choice.

Nice thought to start my morning off! I love walking down our long driveway in the morning with my dog wagging and smiling and the sounds of birds just singing their little hearts out - simple contentment in being alive. :). Have a great day!

We do choose don't we on how we look at life.  Dogs, birds, animals are so non-judgmental and live in the moment which most of us do not. Not an easy thing to do, but happiness does come from deep inside all of us, it is how we handle our own thoughts and feelings that make the difference.  Nice thoughtful post, thank you.

Nice post and an excellent picture. The image of a bird and a french fry is and outstanding example of enjoying the simple things in life.

Getting to there is a matter of letting your "needs" and "wants" get separated.  And, telling that inner voice to shut up for a while.
