What to do with a very green room?

2 weeks ago we, at Staged 2 Sell Solutions Inc., did a staging consultation for a great property in Markham. The house needed a bit of updating, and one of my recommendations was to paint the entire house, getting rid of the wallpaper and the wall paper border in some rooms. It was a "good fight", the homeowners agreed in the end to follow my recommendations, except 1: the green room needs to stay as is, as it was painted just a month ago as a birthday present for their daughter.

Well, I was happy that 99% of my recommendations were followed, but we had to so something with the very green room.

This property sold in just 1 week. Of course I would've loved another paint colour on the walls, but when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade, er... green lemonade:)

The offset with the furniture looks great! You did an amazing job and you're right... that's very green! But the room looks huge! :)

Hi Monica,  We have had clients who would not repaint a master bedroom, even though it was a very deep purple and very "taste specific".  You did a great job staging with this bright green by using white and the brown furniture and not adding any more colors!  We stagers often have to do the best with what we are given.

Monica- part of the challenge of working iwth occupied home is working with what the seller has.  In this case you did a wonderful job at minimizing the distracting green by eliminating other distractions.  Great job.

Thank goodness for all the  neutrals in the room:  carpet and furniture!  They, well, neutralized the green!

Preparing your property for sale

HI Monica, well the sellers  and the agent are now in the "green" as they have a sold house on their hands thanks to your talented staging.  It is a complex job we have when dealing with occupied homes. We have to take in to account the feelings of the family living there and still achieve our goal of neutralizing a space.
