When you ask me the question what can I do to help sell my home. The first thing I will say is, make sure your home is shining on the outside as the first thing a buyer see's when coming to look at your home is the front of the home. Make sure the trees and bushes are trimmed, there are no weeds or leaves, the grass is mowed, the lights are clean and hanging straight. I know we all only have so much time on our hands and you say the lights are clean and hanging straight, but these things are important and people do notice. It also helps to have a few extra flowers with lots of color in the front whether in planters or in the ground. If you have a porch, put a few pieces of outdoor furniture on the porch to make it appealing. If your front door is faded put a coat of paint or varnish on the door and if it has glass make sure the glass is clean. The more it looks and feels like home the more impressed the buyer will be before taking a step into the home. Keep in mind it is many times that first impression and those first seconds that can stop a buyer in their tracks or make them anxious to come inside to see the rest of the home. Many times an opinion is established before they even cross the threshold. The little things show a home has been well maintained all the way down to the welcome mat. Sprucing up takes a little time and costs very little money. So make it shine and get it sold.
