As a Loan Originator I have a number of occasion that I have to either send documents to my Borrowers or print documents that Borrowers send to me.  Most of the time I am near one of my offices, and I can send or print documents from there.  But there are times that I am not close, or the documents that I need to print or send cannot wait for me to get back to the office, and I have to do it from on the road.  That is when these two Moble Apps that I have downloaded on my iPhone have been very helpful to my business.

The first is CamScanner, and it is a free app. CamScanner turns my iPhone into a portable scanner which allows me to take a picture of the document(s), auto-crop the image, enhance the quality of the image, and save the image as a PDF file.  Once that is done it then allows me to automatically attach the PDF file to an e-mail and send it to my Borrower.

If I am on the receiving end of a document that I need to print on the road, the Printer Pro App on my iPhone allows me to print to any printer with wireless capability, which most of the newer printers have today.  Printer Pro cannot print e-mails but it allows me to print any attachment attached to an e-mail.  Printer Pro also allows me to print webpages, pictures, and even the contacts on my iPhone.  Printer Pro is not a free App, but it only cost $6.99.

I find myself using CamScanner a little more than Printer Pro, but both have been a life saver on more than one occasion.  There are times that I am on the road and have to get a document to my Underwriter ASAP, and CamScanner allows me to do that.  Getting a document quickly to an Underwriter can some times be the difference between getting commitment on a loan on time or not.  It is amazing how often Borrowers wait until the last minute to get a document to us that we need to approve the loan.

I am not a Techie, but with CamScanner and Printer Pro I don't have to be, because they are both extremely easy to install and use.  If you don't already have these Apps or others like them on your smart phone, I would highly suggest that you do so.  You will be surprised how often you will find yourself using them once you have them.

George I also use CamScanner but on my Adroid phone. For printing I use PrinterShare. These types of apps really help us and our clients!

Never used Printer Pro - as I am always 'connected' but soon may need it.
