Hawaii Real Estate
How much do you pay your CPA? How about your gardener? Mechanic? Dentist? Doctor? Barber? Yup, they are all on your payroll. But how much do you pay your personal real estate agent? What? You don't have a personal real estate agent? You have got to be kidding me! Why not?
Real estate agents work year round for you for free. They provide you with a wealth of knowledge about the current market conditions, property values in your neighborhood, listings that have sold or have been put on the market in your neighborhood and the latest, greatest happenings dealing with one of the biggest investments you will ever make in your life. They are only a phone call away and usually work evenings, weekends and holidays. You can email them, fax them and if you have a neighborhood agent, you can ring their doorbell. And did I mention that they provide this for free?
Okay so what is the catch? Really there is no catch. When it is time to sell your home, you will have to pay the brokerage firm that will list your property and also the brokerage firm that brings in the buyer. It is a fair price to pay for all of the work that is involved. You can attempt to do it yourself (For Sale by Owner) but check with others that have gone that route to see what they think about that option.
If you are buying rather than selling, most likely you won't have to pay the brokerage firm that represents you as long as the seller (see above) is willing to pay your real estate agent for bringing you to the property.
So what are you waiting for now? Take the time to get to know your neighborhood agent or get a referral from a friend, neighbor or relative. You will then have a motivated, dedicated, professional at your beckon call. And did I mention that it is free?
