Still trying to figure out what to do for your dad this Father's Day? You only have two days left to decide. But don't worry. Celebrate Dad in Austin this Sunday by taking him to one of these fun events:
Austin Ferrari Festival Car Show - For the second year in a row, the Long Center for the Performing Arts (701 W Riverside Dr) will be hosting this event that showcases rare Ferraris as well as newer, privately-owned vehicles. If your dad is a sports car enthusiast, this is the place to be. Admission is absolutely free.
Concerts in the Park - Long Center for the Performing Arts, 7:30pm. After taking in the sights of the classic Ferrari sports cars during the day, enjoy a light concert at the Performing Arts Center in the evening. This evening's concert features the breezy sounds of woodwinds performed by the Austin Symphony. Bring a picnic and blanket to really make this a night to remember. Admission is free.
Father's Day Concert in the Park - Come to Zilker Park at 7:30pm with a blanket, picnic and Dad in tow to enjoy an evening of marches, show tunes, classics and more performed by the Austin Symphonic Band. Admission is free but sharing the evening with your dad is priceless.
As a special tribute to founding father Dave Thomas, this Father's Day weekend (today through Sunday), all Austin area Wendy's restaurants will be holding a "Treat It Forward" event. All you have to do is visit a Wendy's restaurant to purchase a Frosty, go to wendys.com/treatitforward on your smartphone to check-in or retweet a special TweetifForward message (available on the Wendy's website here) and Wendy's will donate 50 cents to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, helping foster kids find permanent homes. Treat your dad and help kids find new dads of their own at the same time. Not a bad way to celebrate Dad in Austin, don't you think?
