Do you remember the day you joined ActiveRain?  Most likely somebody told you to join and now you look back as it being one of the best career moves you've made :)  Many of you still feel indebted to that member who opened up your world to AR.

Let's get a new class in here, a new wave of members.  More members mean more comments, posts, referrals, leads and opinions.  Let's get some newbies who didn't know they could blog, didn't know they could make their phones ring from publishing market reports, didn't know about this wonderful diamond in the haystack called ActiveRain.

I have 3 Kodak 6150 All-In-One Printers that are up for grabs that I'd love to give you.  Want one?  Here's how:

  • Invite new real estate related professionals to sign up for ActiveRain
  • Get your new invitees active, introduce them to ARU and your other associates on AR

Contest starts today June 15th and ends July 15th.   Keep a list of all the usernames you have invited to ActiveRain within this time frame.  Send your list of invited usernames to kerrie@activerain.com by July 19th to be eligible.

The top 3 people who invite the most active new members will win a Kodak 6150 printer. It's important to stress that activity from your new members will help you win.  The more points your invitees have at the end of July 15th the better it is for you to win this challenge.  It's pointless to haven new members who aren't active.  Let's get them involved!!

Get your friends and colleagues in the business to sign up by sending them:  http://activerain.com/action/referrals/yourusername (can also be found under My Home-Other-Invite Others)
Once they sign up and fully register (they will need to pick their State, County & City) you will see them appear in your Points Summary with an Invitation Accepted notice; make a list of these usernames to send in.

In addition to giving back and spreading the AR love, don't forget the points you'll accumulate as well; 250 for any accepted invite plus 10% accrued.  Good Luck!!

*New members must be part of the real estate related professional community.   Profiles without a profile picture or valid contact information will not count.  This contest starts today so any invites accepted prior to today will not count.

Kerrie,

Someone can invite their entire board - if they want to do an email blast. AR invitations were designed to be one-on-one, one-at-a-time. I hope no one misconstrues your invitation to just invite people. That's the easy part - just sending out invitations en masse. Invitations don't really count. It's connections that we really want. :)

Wow!  A new printer.  I was going to invite a group of professionals from my field, this is added incentive.

It might be more encouraging for new members, if they got something out of joining up.

Steve - Yes they could but keep in mind that active participants will greatly help your chance of winning.  Isn't that what it's about anyways....people sign up all day every day and do nothing with their profile.  Getting your invitees to start making connections is the key here.

We cannot recommend you at this time because of customer service issues. We asked a simple question and that was why our post were not automatically going to our outside blog anymore after AR made some changes. We were told that it works fine and to just to A and B. It was not clear and we still could not make it happen. We tried again with no solution. If it we’re me I would give a detail explanation, i.e., Step 1 go to the outside blog and click on the radio box, Step 2: do xyz etc.  It seems to me this or a video would be the most efficient. We’ve been using it for years and all of a sudden we cannot get it to work with no answers.

Jeff & Jane - I'm sorry to hear of the miscommunication.  I'm going to have someone reach out to you immediately and get you situated.  Outside blogs are important and we definitely want your posts syndicated there.  Sit tight, phone ringing shortly!

I spent 45 minutes on the phone sharing the benifits of AR and convincing him to join. He signed up and discovered that one of his pr people had signed up awhile ago but never used the account. Now he may use it.

I wasn't sponsored by anyone.  I had started a blog on a gneric blogging site, but got no traffic.  I was at a seminar and the speaker mentioned that there were blogging sites geared toward real estate professionals.  After the seminar I asked her if she knew what those sites were.  She said she didn't blog but heard someone say something about Active something.  When I got home I checked it out and found AR!  I just plunged in with no guidance or mentor, and figured it all out for myself.  That was in 2007 and I'm still here!

I have invited a number of people, but the few who have signed up have made silly excuses why they can't write on their blogs.  I guess you can lead a horse to water . . .
