Our Ontario Weather is Turning Sour Again!

On Monday morning, when I boarded my WestJet flight bound for Ottawa from BC, as soon as the satelite TV came on, I switched to CTV News. When the weather came on, to my surprise, they were expecting it to be 10 degrees (Celcius).

Stunned and pretty happy, I was looking forward to not being cold for at least a day when I got back home.

Unfortunately for me, the warm weather meant it was raining, and the rain meant that due to this being absolutely exceptional it created an enormous amount of fog, which meant that visibility at Ottawa airport that day was around zero. Thus, as we flew over Thunder Bay we were told by the pilot that we were in fact heading to Toronto!

After a 6 hour delay in Toronto, we finally had a (very rough!) landing at the now desolate McDonald-Cartier airport.

However, for the past couple of days, the weather has been wonderful. I was hoping for the agents' sake that it would remain this good until the weekend for open houses, but unfortunately it has hit freezing once again.

Ah well, it was nice while it lasted!

Hannah, I like how your describe warm weather! Being from Arizona, I cannot even get my brain around being in 10-degree weather. Your flight indeed sounded a bit crazy. Glad you arrived safely. I haven't been to Ontario yet, but have been to Quebec City, (when it was summertime) and lots of places in Alberta. Beautiful country.

It's funny how people in different locations think! The weather should normally be around -20 celcius here (I'm guessing around -60 farenheight for you!). I'm glad you liked Canada, but I would definitely recommend the summer rather than the winter for visiting!

I've never been to the southern USA, is it nice, or a little bit too hot?

Well, it is hot during the summer........but today is supposed to be in the high 60's.  I think that we all become accustomed to wherever we live, hot or cold. I definitely find it cold in the 50-60 range.

I could only wish for that type of winter weather!

I wasn't raised here, so I find anything less than around 30 degrees farenheight to be cold. Minus 50 is definitely much too cold for me!!
