Fort Wayne First Time Home Buyer's Guide - Step 7 - CLOSING!!!!!!!!!!!
Whew. We bet you thought you would NEVER get here! Well, you did. Congrats!
Closings are generally held at the title company. We have had a few close in our office, one close at the lender's office, and one almost closed at the hospital. Our buyer/seller almost went into labor before her double closing. :)
Most of the time, the buyers and sellers both attend the closing, along with both Realtors®, and the closer. Sometimes the lender attends as well.
You can expect the closing to be 30-60 minutes, with some being longer, some being shorter. Remember to bring your funds needed in the form of a cashier's check, and bring your drivers license as well. They need a copy of that.
Oh, and expect to SIGN, SIGN, AND SIGN some more! It's a pretty large stack of paper.
After closing, if you wish, we can go out in the street and dance. We have done that before. Not kidding.
So... the journey is over. You went through all the steps and came out on top. Congratulations!
Of course there are a lot of details that we didn't discuss, but we covered the major steps.
