Summer in Salt Lake City UT
Today's promise of "lots of sunshine" lived to expectation.
Chance of precipitation 0%. sunrise at 5.56am and sunset at 9.01 pm (and still light for a while after) Utah summer days of pleasant dappled shade, light breezes, are a joy in Salt Lake County on the valley floor. There is still evidence of last winter's snow on surrounding mountains for contrast.
Salt Lake City is alive with flowers of summer, and of course, with myriads of visitors.
I must look like a local at lsst. For the past week I have felt like a tour guide for people experiencing Salt Lake City for the first time.
Perhaps I need a penant for my power chair. I would opt for one of those used by oriental tour guides here and elsewhere. They command so much attention and respect, judging by bands of followers in their wake.
Tomorrow we are to experience a sunny day, no rain (we are high altitude desert after all), winds gusting 20 - 30 mph (kite flying, anyone?), with a high near 98F. With humidity of 15% or less. It will be a great Sunday.
It's great time to be in Salt Lake City, as a visitor, or to make it your permanent home.
