16 Comments on A Father’s Day Message for an ever changing society!
Richard, it is so important since roles have changed so much...i list many houses where the father is now the house husband and the wife brings home the bacon...such switching of roles but all the more important for them to be in their children's lives. Happy Father's Day!
Society is becoming more and more brainwashed to think that either mother or father are not needed in child bearing. This lie is more prevalent today than ever before. What the state of affairs will like 20-30 years from now, does not look positive for a healthy society.
My Daddy is fabulous. Of course as a teenager I didn't always think that... and I'm sure the kids didn't always think it of my Donald either, but someday they will.
Following the legacy they seeded on us. . .
missing my dad today. .
Happy Father's Day Richard. .
Thank's Richard. I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day.
Richard -
Hope you enjoy a great Fathers Day! Debbie and I will go to the Butterfly Unit to see my Dad today. He won't know me, be able to communicate or move much. My Dad is lost in the world of Alhimer's... the longest good bye ever. I miss my Dad and long to hear his jokes and poking fun at me just one more time.
Happy Father's Day Richard! Your message is so full of truth..we must pass down the spirit and memories of our father's to make sure our children and grandchildren can know and appreciate them.
Yes times have changed the roles of the family unit. Nice post. I wish you the happiest today. I'm sure you are an amazing dad.

Hi Richard - Your thoughts on Father's Day capture the essence of the times, yat manage to find a place for a still-meaningful tradition. Excellent post and have a happy Father's Day!

Another wonderfully written and thoughtful post Richard! Father's play a huge role in a child's life...they always did, but times have definitely changed :)!
I can honestly say I have not a single bad word to say about my Dad. He just left this Earth far to early and I'm sure there was much more he could of taught me as an adult.
Well said Richard!
I think the change where both parents contribute for the child is a change for the better. And in fact I think it used to be this way with fathers passing down skills. At some point this was lost but now it is back
And a Happy Father's Day back at ya!
I love that the roles have changed. I think my kids benefit so much from having a father who is an active participant in their upbrining.
Happy Father's Day to you!
I do believe that many of us do not realize how important our Fathers (and Mothers) were i our lives until much later in life.
