Refreshing rain fell at the first of the week.
It was appreciated by all residents in this area. The plants seem to sigh a grateful sound as they turn their blossoms and leaves to the sky to absorb the wetness.
When rain falls in large quantities over short periods of time it fills up spaces not necessarily able to contain it. Such is the case in our yard.
It is times like this that we rejoice in the fact that we have created some drainage channels in the yard.
Right off our patio is one of those gentle ditches. It functions beautifully and keeps the water from taking over the dry spaces on the patio.
On days when we cannot control the weather, it is nice to be able to minimize the discomfort it sometimes causes.
Sort of like the checks and balances we try to build into our transactions.
When we plan for worst case scenarios we are often pleasantly surprised when we do not need the extra time we have allotted to correct problems. I guess it is like having continuous rainy day plans. Life is just easier with contingency plans.
