Thanks for a great blog. I have only door kncoked one day ever and I got alisting that recently sold. I have sold way over 2000 homes and door knocking is not for me, but I do know it works.

Via Richie Naggar Ran Right Realty Riverside, Ca:

I remember many years ago before I became a Real Estate agent I remember seeing a group of people pull up in my neighborhood and get out of a car and huddle around on the curb. They were not in a hurry, moved like they belong there and got my attention. I assumed it was a religious group or a candy drive in play

PAIRED AND THEN SPLIT UP

These perfectly groomed and poised people then went into pairs of male and female and headed in different directions. They were going from door to door introducing themselves. I saw them from a distance and wondered what that was all about

FUN & FRIENDLY

They were not pushy, but friendly just casually strolling along house to house laughing and smiling. They would knock on your door, introduce themselves and then let you know that they were in the Real Estate business, that they knew the area and if you had any questions about Real Estate, they would be happy to come over and speak with you.

ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD

No cell phones, no text, no email just face to face questions and answers. These agents asked all the right questions too. They wanted to know if you had kids, family where you were from and if you planned on selling any time soon. Then, if you had a friend or a relative that wanted to purchase nearby. It was done all within the confines of neighborly, laid back conversation

THEY BECAME PART OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD

They repeated this behavior every weekend and became a welcomed site to the area. Sometimes bearing little flags or hand-out bulletins or keepsakes. After a while, this became their neighborhood and everyone in the neighborhood knew this and silently agreed. If another outfit tried the same tactics, they were quickly told that agents were in the area already. Then, that new team would just leave

IT GOT BETTER TOO

One day this team showed up all wearing red jackets. Red Carpet Realty was born. Its gone now, but it was a site to behold. Well dressed men and women with red coats on looking so friendly and professional too. It was like all those pictures you see in Real Estate advertisement of the perfect agents...

Real Estate agents......Does anyone walk the neighborhood anymore?
