Great close ups Toni. I can't remember the last time I noticed a grasshopper around our house.
I don't think we have those in North Carolina. or maybe they just know how to hide. Nice clear photos, especially the middle one. What complex creatures they are! Lots of moving parts.
Well Jimminie Cricket! I have never seen anyone else capture the beauty of a grasshopper the way you did. Each one is a masterpiece!!!
You make me want to run out and get a better camera!
Have a lucky day!
Toni, Those are great photographs. You did a great job capturing them! Have a great Night!
Howdy and afternoon Toni
Toni my friend, those sure are mighty outstanding photos of Grasshoppers you took. I sure do also like each of the captions for the photos.
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire
Great shots Toni, I guess I can not recall seeing to many here in Denver but out in the wheat fields in Neb. they have lots of them.
Toni: Excellent photos of a "critter" that I am not too fond of. LOL Never did take a liking to grasshoppers for some reason.
I love that nature comes in so many beautiful colors, even for something as small as a grasshopper. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Toni - Great photos! What kind of camera did you use - even if I had your talent, I don't think I could get such great shots!
Toni
That's what you call be ready for opportunity, great photo's.
Good luck and success.

Grasshoppers seem to be in abundance this year. Hit one the other day that was at least 3" long. (He stuck to my wiper, ick.)
Toni,
Nice job of capturing some of our Florida critters in the wild. :)
Steve
Susan - yes, he was very formally dressed :)
Winston - it is lots of fun to capture them that way.
Donna - we had a ton of babies in the spring.
Dianne - they are very interesting to see. Especially the warrior one :)
Patricia - just use a better editing program.
Tony - thank you!
Dale - thank you!
Will - I'm sure they do. Maybe CO is too cold in winter.
Anita - I can't say I'm fond of them but I like all living creatures; especially for photographing.
Jennifer- the colorful one was at least 3"
Wayne & Jean - use Picasa as an editing program!
Lou - thank you!
Than - ick!
Steve - thanks, they were in my wild palm tree :)
Thanks for sharing your photographs.
Have an outstanding week with your camera in hand.
Toni, that first grasshopper blended in quite well, good thing you caught that! They can be so destructive to our plants, glad we haven't seen many this year.
Pretty photos Toni. I remember the last time we were in sunny Florida we enjoyed seeing them hop around outside, that is until we saw one trying to take a nap inside our hotel room!
Toni- good catch! Believe it or not I'd never seen the larger orange ones until about 2 years ago.
Toni, what a beautiful grasshopper you captured in picture #2! I've never seen one like that before. :)
Leilani
Roy - thanks for the flowers!
Joan - they sure can but I leave them alone.
Larry and Sheila - he liked his comfort too!
Kathy - we started seeing them about 5 years ago. Wonder where they came from? Now you got me curious.
Leilani - Thank you! He is unusual. We have a woods area behind us and I think they come from there. (the colored ones).
Toni,
Congratulations. This post is now featured on "Speechless Sundays." :)
