Do You Know How To Connect With The Opposite Sex?

By

Women and men have obvious physical and mental differences. The more you learn about the ways men and women are wired the more you will understand how to connect with them. The more you can connect with them the smoother your transactions will go and the more loyalty you will establish within the relationship of agent and prospect, customer or client.

differences in genders

Males and females are wired differently.

If you are a man, you should learn how women think and how our brains work. If you are a woman, you should learn the same about men.

Specific differences in the brains:

  • Men’s brains on average are larger than women’s brains. There is no difference though on how many cells are in a man or a woman’s brain.

  • Women’s brains are more densely packed. There is no difference though in average intelligence of man or woman.

  • Women have a better sense of smell than men do.
  • Men are more sensitive to bright lights.

  • Autism affects more men while depression affects more women.

A male brain runs on Testosterone and a female brain runs on Estrogen. But hormones are not the whole story. Our brains are wired differently. Men have more neurons in the part of their brain that processes aggression and women have more neurons in the part of the brain that processes memory and emotion. There may be more truth to the clichés than we realize!

Men and women also use their brains differently.  Females score higher on empathy tests and men score higher on systemizing tests. This is the reason that women need to be around other women. They have a need to be with friends and want to make emotional connections with people. Of course there are exceptions and these are just generalities.

What does this have to do with your business? It is all about relationships. So if you understand the core differences and strengths of each gender you can come to the table with an understanding of how you will relate to your male clients and your female clients.

HHHmmm, Interetsing...I know my eyes are extremely sensitive to bright lights. I wear sunglasses everyday, even on cloudy days....and it isn't to cover bloodshot eyes.

Sean- Yes, that is interesting. That must have something to do with what we had to do centuries ago hunting and gathering. Katerina

Hello Kat...I get along with one woman most of the time, and the others some of the time..My time as an employer in another life for 30 years made me get along with most people, and fire the rest...Just kidding, firing is the last thing I wanted to do, plus, I always felt it reflected badly on my judgement to hire them in the first place......I do agree on the emotional part..the crying over silly stuff still amazes me....There is no crying....there is no crying.....

Does this brain difference thing explain why many women look at kitchens and men look at backyards and garages? Mysteries of life!

Gary- Yes, I think that is correct. Women look at kitchens because of the nurturing and men look at the garages and yards because of being hunters and builders. Katerina

All I can say is that I hope the time never ocmes that a man can figure me out.  I also help I never meet a man that I can't figure out.

I love them, just about every single solitary one of them.

Katerina - this is reminiscent of "Mens are from Mars, Women are from Venus". The genders do have different expectations.

Katerina, This is interesting.  I have always gotten along much better with men than with women.   I much prefer working and socializing with men.  I always have a hard time understanding the way the women think and act.  What does that mean for me??

Katerina, I'm having a wonderful time catching up on your posts from this last week!  This is all so very true, but does it take into account the brain cells some men and women have destroyed from, um smoking stuff?  Great post with a lot of wisdom in it.
