North Port Real Estate Being Spiritually Fit

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit Creative Reaty

We have been doing missionary work in short sales and as a result, we are starting to get listings. We took a course and it was very helpful, at least enough to get us started. We have 3 offers and we have faxed them to the appropriate places and await acceptance or not. The first one came back and had an IRS lien on it we weren't aware of. The customer had insufficient time to get it removed so we could proceed with the transaction. We have been told or paperwork must be resubmitted in it's entirety when complete. We can handle that.

We had a sales meeting and our broker asked if anyone had anything special going on. I raised my hand and related pur new listings and how we got them. As soon as I finished, a local mortgage broker said, "don't waste your time on short sales" I thanked him for sharing and wondered what is it that has people be so dumb? However I like the guy and can benefit from his experience. I realized it was how I respond to situations like that, that will determine how I build a referral business. It comes down to being spiritually fit and not letting other people push my buttons. So I continue to work on myself, a little each day. I haven't killed anybody yet. Even though my inner child is Don Rickles, I can be nice to people, even when they may not deserve it. I will work it out with this fellow and rebuild the relationship. I'll ask him what his experience in Short Sales is and can he help me.

My wife, Cecelia always lets stupid stuff alone. I watch her and learn from her. One of my favorite comedians, Ron White, has an album called "You can't teach stupid"I don't know about that. However I really do know the degree to which I can be ok with things is determined by how am I doing spiritually. Am I working on myself, by reading or meditating. I leave you (me) with the question.

Hi Kieran,

I wanted to be the first one to respond to your blog!  :-)  I have had some experience in the short sale industry and know it takes a truly special person (like yourself) to take on this task over and over.  Although Short Sales are most often time consuming and very stressful, they also can be truly rewarding, for you know you are doing good for for good people in bad situations.

All the Best,
