Today started in typical fashion. Drag the kids out of bed, a feeble attempt at French Toast, the never ending search for matching socks, and all the other things that it seems to take to get the kids out the door in the morning. As I was driving down the road on my way to dropping my 4 year old daughter at pre-school, I was already mentally entrenched in Realtor mode. Oh no - that was not to be. I was soon to learn that a crisis was afoot. Apparently it was Friday. Apparently Friday is Show -&- Tell day. Didn't I know anything? Decision time. Turn around, go all the way home, or find something in my car that was interesting enough to suffice. A pen? No. A hat?. No. Wait a minute! A business card! Yes! Success! After a brief tutorial as to what this card was, why my picture was one it, and what exactly it was that I did for a living, I dropped her off at school.
Man, if I get a lead out of this one, I am really getting my moneys worth out of that school.

Kevin, it is amazing how synergy works. You might need some parents around....but any community activity can bring a hook-up! Hope this will be one, as well! Cute story!
I can totally relate, my 7 year old takes business cards with him to school and uses them as bookmarkers. The other kids thinks its cool so he hands them out.
I know an agent that has been in the business for 40 years and when her children were young she use to have them tell her when they knew about any of their friends moving. If she got the listing she would pay her kids a $100 each. Now there's some incentive for a kid!
What a great idea for show and tell. Marketing aside, from an educational point of view I think learning about business cards beats meeting a kid's favorite Raggedy Ann doll any day.
Rosario - I agree - probably the most educational thing they will do all day. Of course - they are 4 - so who knows - maybe the will understand it better then I do.............
Kevin - Old guy advice. Throw out all your socks. Go to store and buy 5-6 pairs of the same black socks. It will eliminate the early morning search. Just grab two and move on.
