This may be one of the most powerful and poignant posts that Barbara has written.  To me she's the master on and off of AR.  Barbara has a lesson for us everyday and I have been a long time admirer of her ongoing training as have many of you.  And no truer words have ever neen spoken.  Really what is the point of seeking knowledge if you aren't going to use it?

Via Barbara Todaro "New Franklin MA Homes" (RE/MAX Executive Realty ):

New methods don’t work unless you apply them!!  We all know that ActiveRain is a great place to share and to learn from others.  How many actually apply what is learned here?  I find myself learning many new tips on technology, and I have to admit I apply about 50% of what I actually learn.

It’s a matter of creating new routines and habits.  Old habits are tough to break, but when you do, it’s a great feeling to know that you are now improving your old practice.

Tuning-in is the first step; learning from what you read is next; and applying that newly found knowledge is the biggest challenge of all.

Establish those new procedures and continue to improve what you do to make the phone ring.  These improvements might be online and/or offline, but apply them and make them a habit you never want to break, until something better is introduced.

Change and methods to improve what we do will always be a constant factor in our business and unless we apply this knowledge, it’s useless!!

Hi Charita. I agree 100% that Barbara is right on the money about "Applying What you Learn". It's not worth anything until you do it. Knowledge is Great, But we do have to implement at some time.

Barbara is one of my heros.  I had missed this blog today but am headed over to comment...she is 100% right.  Learning doesn't truly happen until you apply what you learn.  There is so much and it can get overwhelming at times.

I try to do all the things I learn here on AR but like Barbra I don't apply but 50% of it.

Charita~ It's a challenge.  As I said to Barbara, when you learn something new you have to figure out, is this the best thing to be implementing in your business or life.  Maybe it's not the right fit, or maybe you've been overwhelmed with knowledge after attending a class or webinar and you plan to implement the top 3 things your learned, not all 10.

Isn't that the truth, Charita?  At times it can become overwhelming though.  You have to step back and do it one thing at a time.

True words spoke by a true master who's been there and done that. Great reblog. I missed our conversations, Charita. I hope all is well.
