Adding spice to better conditions of living in a particular community are the latest developments giving birth to new features and attractions within a specific area. Howard County is no different with the implementation of various development projects such that new attractions have become existent in the community.
In 2011, Howard County was cited as one of the wealthiest and most affluent countiesin the United States. Proofs of this citation are its academic institutions that are considered centers of educational excellence; various businesses; and other establishments such as cultural and tourist attractions.
For instance, Maple Lawn boasts of both residential and commercial spaces that exude mixture of old and new-style fashions. The residential areas offer unique abodes comprised of condominiums, town homes, manor homes, and village homes that contribute to making the community a true neighborhood that is far from subdivision images. One of the recent attractions in this community is the Harris Teeter which is now on its third year of operation within Howard County. It provides convenient shopping for daily needs of the residents.
Adding attraction to Maple Lawn are the new homes that are made available for those who want to relocate in Howard County for residence purposes or just to be near their workplaces in Washington DC and Baltimore. Howard County also boasts of being on a continuous economic growth as evident by the sprouting of new businesses. One of them is the mega grocery store Wegman’s last June 17. The store received more than 2000 shoppers during its opening – a crowd bigger than what they expected.
A planned revitalization and redevelopment on Howard County is set to draw new residents and tourists to the country. Included in the revitalization plan is the establishment of new multi-story residential buildings, array of retail and specialty stores, and spaces for other commercial and industrial purposes. A lifestyle center would surely be in the depths of the plan to attract huge human traffic to the area that will make the area a thriving business district as well.
Howard County sets forth on many improvements that will continue to place its name in many lists, write ups, and commendations for being a county that holds up high standards of economic advancement while maintaining the most convenient aspects of living in the community.
