Yes, that is how I feel about so many people in the Rain.  When we were in the Chesapeake area of Virginia, one of our clients has an assistant who is an actress in Pirate days which tours the Eastern Seabord.  The homes that were built near creeks were deliberately done that way, so that pirates could not make land to loot them....it was more desirable to have a home on a creek rather than on the water's edge...I love that shot of Myrl.  A

Oh my goodness!  Now I'm famous. . .LOL  I want you to know that I don't think of pirates every day of my life, but at least once a week I do!  I'm having my 3rd annual Pirate party coming up next month.  I hesitate to give the exact date for fear something akin to what happens when you announce a party on Facebook will happen!  In the past, our theme has been "Where Pirates Go" and "My Big Fat Greek Pirate Party."  This year the theme is "Skewers."   Thanks for the mention, William!  One of these times, we need to have a big ole ActiveRain Pirate party!

I should mention the reason we moved up the pirate party to July this year is because I have a grandson who lives in Texas who turned 15 this month.  He is coming to California for a visit, and this will be his first family pirate party.  I've been planning recipes for days:-)  I should tell you about a little adventure with "remkins."  There is this recipe that uses little remkins, that contain a little chicken mole with sweet corn cake.  But that is a whole long convoluted story that I will save for another day:-)

But everybody should put September 19th on the calendar, that is the real "Talk Like a Pirate" day!

I love to watch pirate movies except the ones with Johnny Depp are kind of silly. I love all the old black and white movies. Myrl looks so cute with her hat on!

Hi William, well I love this post about Myrl and your photo of the Pirate ship, too!  I feel fortunate to have found Myrl in ActiveRain and have learned so much from her. You picked a great lady to highlight today. 

William, I did not know this about Myrl, how interesting...I did a post at the beginning of the  month about a Car Wash in Venice and it is a Pirate Theme had I known I would have dedicated it to her:))

Funny thing I'm just reading a book based on pirates and their power today...it's called "The Jefferson Key" by Steve Berry. A fellow guest at the Red Lion in Portland gave to me to read while on holidays.
