Lawns speak. They have much to say to people who are coming and going. They will not be ignored too. Consider that if your lawn is yellow, dying or full or patches of dirt, that is its message. If it is vibrant, full of life, green and healthy, well that is making a statement too
HELLO...I AM FOR SALE
Curb appeal is one of those things that we over look or that has a low priority when it comes to listing and selling a home. Too often, the neglected lawn is apologized for and the focus quickly shifts to the home and its interior followed by a closer look at the price.
THE HOUSE SHAKES HANDS
Being welcomed or acknowledged when shopping or eating out has long been considered a standard marketing tool. It is also a public relations focal point to greet and meet the potential consumer/customer and welcome them into your product world. That is what the lawn does. It's like a giant hand shake
FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND...STICKS AROUND FOR A WHILE
Partner up with this dynamic and treat it as a huge welcoming mat that beckons to who ever first sets eyes on it. People react to something pleasant or unpleasant long before they utter their response. As soon as one locks eyes with the destination, the sale has begun. Whether it is won or lost kicks in after that
FOOD FOR THE WORMS
Lawn, flower, bush and tree food is a good earth that has retained its minerals and nutrients something of which all foliage craves for growth and health. Strange as it may seem, I am going to call your attention to their food source that to you is not appealing but to them is fine dining
AHHH MANURE
Manure has everything in it to satisfy anything that is trying to grow and prosper. You can purchase this by the bag or have the local nursery deliver a load. You spread it around with a rake, shovel and then water it. Even if someone sees a covering of manure, they can at least know the home is in the process of getting a mani and pedi

That is a clever title for your post. I totally agree with you about lawns. Yesterday as I drove home I went by several homes in succession and couldn't help noticing the lawns. There were several that had had excellent care and were so beautiful. They just made the entire package look better.
Betty
Hello there Betty...you made the point of the post...Lawns speak and whether it speaks good or bad can be influenced...YES? Thank you for joing me...
Good morning, Richie --- you're right when a home is on the market for sale, the front lawn, gardens and curb appeal are shaking hands with potential buyers and setting out the welcome mat --- those first impressions happen only once -- give it your best shot!
Richie - catchy title and points well made - curb appeal matters and getting the lawn and landscaping right does not need to cost a lot of money. Regards, Dave
Hello Michael...agreed and its like putting on a show...Lets make it a good one
Hello David...That point that you made about money needs emphasis...it is not that expensive...
Curb appeal has a big impact for buyers who may not want to step inside the house if the outside is in disarray...start from the outside to bring buyers to the front door!
Now this is a clever post! Love the title and the valuable information for Sellers.
Larry & Sheila....actually peoples mind and emotions are engaged and then stuff may or may not be shared...Example...when we all see graffiti, we may not speak, but none of us like it...same dynamics at work
Hello there Sharon...You are now the official poster child for the subject matter...Great first impression followed by oratory support...a true real person...thank you Sharon
Richie, you are so darn creative! This is just so beautifully and creatively written! Same message as I have seen many times, but I'm somehow never going to look at a lawn or yardwork being done in quite the same manner ever again ...
You have the gift, my friend ... thanks for sharing it! SUGGESTED!!
Gene

Richie, Being a gardener it takes lots of work and product to make the lawn look nice. But the rewards are wonderful if you invest in it.
Debbie speaks from the gardening trenches....she maintains that what you put in...you get out...thank you Debbie
